Consultant for AstraZeneca in Södertälje

QRIOS is now looking for a curious and meticulous consultant for an exciting assignment at AstraZeneca in Södertälje. We are looking for someone with post-secondary technical education in fields such as chemistry, chemical engineering, or water treatment, who enjoys both practical and administrative work. You will be part of the Treatment Plant and work with sampling, analysis, and quality assurance of process wastewater – a developing daytime role suitable for recent graduates or those early in their careers who want to grow in a socially important operation.

About the position

At the Treatment Plant, process wastewater generated during the manufacturing of various pharmaceuticals at both Snäckviken and Gärtuna is treated. The Treatment Plant is responsible for the operation, maintenance, and quality assurance of the treated water.

Your initial tasks will include ensuring that sampling and analyses are performed to guarantee that processes and operations function optimally, and that regulatory requirements related to discharge levels are met. Over time, tasks may be broadened to cover a larger area to further relieve process engineers, e.g., with administrative tasks, support during investigations, and/or process optimization. Daytime position 07:00-15:50. (flexibility is available)

Your main tasks

  • Daily collection of samples of incoming and outgoing water
  • Sending samples to external laboratories
  • Performing analyses (nitrogen, TOC, phosphorus, suspended solids)
  • Microscopy to monitor the biological process
  • Monitoring of limit values and discharge conditions
  • Maintenance of online instruments (ongoing maintenance, troubleshooting, contact with suppliers)
  • Investigation of new sub-streams (laboratory work and report writing)
  • Various administrative tasks, e.g., documenting results, issuing and updating instructions
  • Relieving process engineers with various defined tasks

Who are you?

  • Post-secondary technical education, preferably with a focus on the water treatment industry (wastewater treatment) or chemistry/chemical engineering
  • Ability to work independently and take responsibility for your own tasks
  • Meticulous, structured, and quality-conscious with an analytical approach
  • Curious and solution-oriented with an interest in both practical and administrative work
  • Available immediately

Meritorious

  • Experience in laboratory work and microscopy
  • The position also suits recent graduates or those at the beginning of their careers.
